Written shortly before Barrack Obama became president of the United States of America. The idea that there was a strong chance that he could become the leader of the free world, brought out the ugly in many. While attending Graduate School, there were incidents where we were told that we did not belong here (Dekalb, IL / America). Organizations around campus even became particularly stricter when it came to enforcing rules to those were not white, including the removal of a campus friend who was homeless and would spend her winter nights in the warm music building.
